Allaire "Larry" Palmer

Larry Palmer’s journey with Bonney Memorial Library began over three decades ago. Her long tenure on the Board of Trustees is a testament to her unwavering dedication. Throughout these years, she held several key positions, including President, guiding the library through many changes and challenges. Allaire "Larry" Palmer stands out for her extraordinary commitment and leadership.


Her deep knowledge of the community helped the Board make decisions that truly reflected local needs. Larry’s love for the library was evident in every meeting and project. She understood that a library is more than just a building; it is a place where knowledge, culture, and community come together.


After more than 35 years of service on the Board of Trustees, Larry is retiring, leaving a legacy that will inspire generations to come. During her time on the Board, Larry collaborated with over at least five different Library Directors. Each director found in her a mentor and a source of wisdom. Larry’s advice was grounded in experience and a genuine desire to see the library thrive. Her support helped directors navigate challenges, implement new initiatives, and maintain the library’s welcoming atmosphere. The respect she earned from these leaders speaks volumes about her influence and character.


Linda Humphrey


Linda Humphrey has served on the Board for at least 20 years. As a child, Linda spent many hours at Bonney Memorial Library and her love of the library is evident by the many hours she spends volunteering as a Trustee and organizing pie and bake sales. Linda's personal touch and contagious smile helped create a warm environment where people felt connected and inspired.


Both Allaire and Linda were instrumental in seeing that a new, beautiful addition was added in 2017 to the original library (built in 1929). Their commitment to the library, their community and to service is evident in the larger, more accessible Bonney Memorial Library.

Linda and Larry's impact went beyond formal roles and projects. They are both known for their kindness, patience, and thoughtful listening. Many who worked with them recall how they both made everyone feel valued and heard. Their presence at community events, and library fundraisers strengthened the bond between the library and its patrons. .
