Bonney Memorial Library News November-December 2025
The holidays have arrived and the library is bustling with special programs and activities.
Chris Calnan, Cornish’s Fire Chief, visited the library’s Storytime and he read stories to the chilldren, talked with the families about fire safety, and showed us all the features on a fire truck. The children were so excited to learn about fire fighters.. We appreciate sharing his expertise and donating time from his very busy schedule to educate us about fire safety.
Cyndy Burgess and Ana Volland, two of our talented library volunteers, have donated their time to teach free Craft, Sewing and Quilting classes to library patrons. Check our website and facebook page for more classes being held this winter and spring!
Our Annual Holiday Raffle is going on from November 5th until December 5th. Check out our Facebook page and our Bonney Memorial Library webpage for more information and a video highlighting the amazing prizes you could win. Prizes includes gift certificates to local businesses, a pie a month for 6 months, homemade muffins, gifts for children and adults, homemade lap quilt and more! Proceeds are used for library programs.
We are still working on the four grants we received this year. You can see some of the results of these grants if you visit our chidren’s rooms to see the colorful furniture, new books and beautiful, acoustic ceiling tiles. Our automatic A.D.A. door opener will be functioning before the end of this month, thanks to another grant. Please mark your calendar for Saturday, February 7th for our Annual Take Your Child To The Library Day and Open House. We’ll have displays highlighting all the grants, refreshments, a scavenger hunt, door prizes and an Elephant and Piggie Party!
Our Annual Appeal letter will be sent out in November. Your donations help with public programs, book purchases, operating expenses (such as printing supplies and building upkeep), and more.
